Solomon and Abigail are the second Seed Bride Initiative couple whose wedding dream came true through the generosity of Ghanaian vendors. Here’s their story.
The Seed Bride Initiative brings Ghanaian wedding vendors together to give a couple the wedding they dream of, completely free of charge. The initiative allows wedding professionals to show gratitude to God for their businesses by offering their services, products, and expertise to a couple who needs a helping hand.
In 2022, the initiative returned for its second edition with Abigail Gyamfi and Solomon Nii-Quaye as the chosen couple. Their story began at church, where Abigail met Solomon, a keyboardist, and the two became friends. Over time, that friendship grew into love, built on kindness, sacrifice, and the support they gave each other.
But getting married was not easy. After Solomon proposed, financial struggles made it difficult for the couple to see how their wedding would happen. What they had hoped for began to feel out of reach.
Then Abigail came across the Seed Bride announcement on a vendor’s Instagram Story. She reached out without knowing what to expect, and that decision changed everything. Through the generosity of Ghanaian wedding vendors, Solomon and Abigail received a fully sponsored engagement and reception on November 18, 2022, in Accra. Here’s how their story unfolded.

Solomon and Abigail’s Story
Abigail first met Solomon at church after completing her nursing degree. He was a keyboardist, and she was a singer. What began as a friendship grew naturally as they spent more time together at church services and rehearsals. Solomon would often accompany Abigail home, and their growing closeness did not go unnoticed. Even church elders began to suspect that there was something more between them.
For Solomon, Abigail became more than someone he loved. She was a source of encouragement during difficult times, supporting him in his career and in life. He credited her with contributing significantly to the favour and progress he had experienced. Abigail, in turn, admired Solomon for his kindness and willingness to make sacrifices for her. She saw in him someone who could put her needs before his own, qualities that strengthened her desire to build a future with him.
Their relationship was not without challenges. They faced public ridicule, but it did not break their bond. Eventually, Solomon proposed, and they looked forward to getting married. However, financial difficulties made the prospect of a wedding increasingly uncertain. Despite their desire to take that next step, they struggled to see how they could make it happen.
Abigail later came across an announcement about the Seed Bride Initiative on a wedding vendor’s Instagram Story. She decided to reach out, not knowing what the outcome would be. When she was selected, the opportunity gave the couple a way forward. Through the contributions of Ghanaian wedding vendors, Solomon and Abigail received a fully sponsored engagement and reception, turning what had seemed financially out of reach into a celebration they could finally have.
Following their wedding, Abigail expressed her gratitude to the vendors, praying that God would bless them and replenish whatever they had given to make the couple’s day possible. Their story is a reminder of what can happen when people use their skills and resources to help others take an important step in life.
