The third Seed Bride couple, Samuel and Benedicta, found love in unexpected circumstances and received a fully sponsored wedding through the generosity of Ghanaian wedding vendors.
The Seed Bride Initiative brings Ghanaian wedding vendors together to help couples celebrate their weddings without the financial burden of paying for the services and items they receive. The initiative is a way for vendors to thank God for blessing their businesses by giving back to couples who need a helping hand.
In 2023, the initiative returned for its third edition, selecting Samuel Baah and Benedicta as the couple to receive this special gift. Their love story began in unexpected circumstances and grew through experiences that tested their relationship.
On November 7, 2023, Samuel and Benedicta celebrated their traditional and white wedding in Accra, with more than 40 wedding professionals contributing to make the occasion possible. They also received a honeymoon experience, making the third edition memorable beyond the wedding day itself.

Samuel and Benedicta’s Story
Samuel and Benedicta met in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. Although they attended the same church and were both choristers, they were not close friends at the time. Their lives took an unexpected turn one Tuesday when a late church service led to an encounter that would change their relationship.
After the service, Benedicta saw Samuel at the church car park and accepted a lift home from him. A short distance from the church, Samuel’s car struck a pedestrian. The people who witnessed the incident called the police, and Samuel was taken into custody. The injured pedestrian was rushed to the hospital but later died. Samuel spent three days in police custody following the incident.
The experience left both of them deeply shaken. Benedicta struggled to sleep and kept reliving what had happened. She also felt troubled by the thought that Samuel had been trying to help her when the tragedy occurred. Wanting to support him through the difficult period, she began reaching out to him. Their conversations grew more frequent, moving from morning to afternoon and evening, until they became inseparable.
As their friendship deepened, they fell in love and began building a future together. Their relationship, however, faced further challenges, including a court case involving Samuel and financial difficulties. Through these experiences, they continued to support each other and hold on to the possibility of a better future.
When Benedicta saw the previous edition of Seed Bride, she began hoping that they could be selected for the next one. So, when applications opened, she quickly wrote their story and sent it to Samuel to review before they submitted it. Then, on a Wednesday that was also a public holiday, they received an email congratulating them on being chosen as the 2023 Seed Bride couple.
Their selection brought them closer to the wedding they had hoped for. On November 7, 2023, they celebrated their traditional and white wedding with the support of the participating vendors. The couple also received a honeymoon experience, giving them an opportunity to begin married life with a special getaway.
For Samuel and Benedicta, their journey was shaped by an unexpected meeting, difficult experiences, and the support they found in each other. Their wedding marked a new chapter in that journey, made possible in part by the generosity of people who chose to contribute to their celebration.
