As a company, we are not oblivious to the harmful effects of mining on our environment. With the introduction of the SueShimmers buy-back program three years ago, we aim to produce at least 70% of our jewelry using recycled gold by 2025. All our diamonds and gemstones are supplied by ethically responsible sources.”
Who owns SueShimmers Jewelry? This popular jewelry company was established in 2012 by a renowned jeweler named Sue Eyram Kumah-Boateng. She is also the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sue Shimmers Jewellery and Art-Tech Institute, where new and old jewelers upgrade their skills in jewelry manufacturing.
She is a product of Aburi Girls Secondary School and had her bachelor’s at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and master’s at Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration.
While growing up, she had two passions: jewelry and wrought iron fabrication. When she was in college, she studied to be a metal product designer, leading to the establishment of her business right after her national service.
As her love for fine jewelry prevailed, she brought a breath of fresh air to the precious jewelry scene. Her love for Ghanaian art is seen in her pieces. She is also passionate about contemporary designs, experiments with a wide range of textures, and works with semi-precious and precious stones like diamonds, amethyst, aquamarine, sapphires, rubies, and more.
Sue’s dream is to share the rich concepts of Ghanaian jewelry with the rest of the world!
